With the US Congress slashing food assistance programs by tens of billions of dollars, food security is a serious issue for everyone in the United States but especially poor and working class communities. The urban Black community could be especially hit hard and while a few non-governmental programs exist in a few communities, the need for a larger Poor People's Survival Movement can not be stressed enough.
